Yes, it is strongly recommended that all Tuscan Path Stepping Stone are sealed with an appropriate sealant, on the top, bottom, and sides before installation. Sealing is also recommended after stepping stones have been laid. Sealing makes the stepping stones less porous, providing protection from the elements and from staining, ensuring your steppers are durable and enjoyed for years to come.

We do not recommend any of our Tuscan Path pavers or stepping stones are used in settings outside of the intended use of landscaping paving and paths.

For most garden projects, you can simply lay on compacted road base with a sand bedding layer. In high-traffic spots, use a wet mix mortar bed for extra stability. On existing slabs, you can adhere to concrete following the manufacturer’s instructions. Always level, leave drainage fall, and tap steppers in firmly.

Sweep debris, then wash with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid harsh acids or high-alkaline products. Re-seal periodically (timing depends on exposure) to protect against moisture and stains while preserving that classic charm.

For comfortable walkways, place stepping stones 550–650 mm apart (centre-to-centre) to match a natural stride. On curved pathways, tighten spacing on the inside of the curve and check step comfort as you go.
