Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to seal your fibreglass pots before use?
While our fibreglass pots are designed to withstand Australian weather conditions and are UV-stabilized, we recommend applying a sealant before planting. This provides extra protection against water damage and UV exposure, helping to extend the pot's longevity.
Is the Harper Egg frost resistant?
In most climates, fibreglass pots perform well in the cold and are often considered frost resistant compared to more brittle materials. For extreme freezes, elevating the pot and ensuring good drainage helps reduce risk.
Is this white fibreglass pot suitable for outdoor weather conditions?
Yes - this fibreglass pot is made to withstand common outdoor weather conditions. It’s a practical choice for outdoor planters where you want a lightweight but durable finish.
What’s the advantage of fibreglass pots compared to ceramic or terracotta?
A key advantage, compared to ceramic/terracotta, is that fibreglass pots are typically lighter and less prone to cracking. Fibreglass is reinforced, helping it handle everyday knocks and outdoor use.
Can I use this pot to grow edible herbs and vegetables in?
Yes, you can absolutely use our pots to grow edible herbs and vegetables. Our range is designed to provide a safe and suitable environment for your plants to thrive. Made with high-quality materials, these pots support healthy root growth and proper drainage, ensuring your herbs and vegetables grow strong and vibrant.
Do your outdoor pots have drainage holes?
Yes. Pots in the Tuscan Path collection are designed for outdoor use and include a built-in drainage hole, with some plastic designs also featuring a removable plug for extra flexibility. This helps prevent waterlogging and supports healthy root growth. If you’re using your pot indoors, keep the drainage hole plugged (where applicable) and also sit the pot on a suitable tray to catch excess water and
protect your surfaces (as plug may allow some water through).
How do I choose the right pot size for my plant?
As a guide, choose a Tuscan Path pot that’s 2–5 cm wider than your plant’s current nursery grower pot (up to around 10 cm for fast growers). For larger feature plants, our bigger fibreglass and plastic planters - such as the taller cylinders and drum planters - give roots room to establish and anchor the plant. You can also check the litre capacity in the product specifications on each pot page to make sure you’re selecting a size with enough soil volume for your plant.
How do I know how much soil I need to fill my pot?
To figure out how much soil you need for your Tuscan Path pot, check the specifications section on the product page for its litre capacity. This will tell you the exact amount of soil required to fill the pot.
